| International House reputation is known for its great food. Three meals a day are provided, seven days a week. Modern western, Asian and vegetarian meals are all offered, with much effort being made to accommodate different culinary tastes.
The Food Committee works closely with the Catering Manager to accommodate the special needs or dietary requirements of students and to strive for continual improvement. |
|
Hot breakfasts are served twice a week, with breakfasts and lunches served on weekends, including brunch or Yum Cha served on Sundays. High Table (formal dinners) are conducted twice a week and require all students to wear an academic gown.
Less formal community dinners, when the students are served at their tables, are held twice a week. Informal self-serve meals are available all other times. Late dinners and lunch-making facilities are available during the week for those who have prior engagements outside the House.
There is a four-week schedule of meals, which include a soup, a choice of two main courses (one of which is vegetarian) and a dessert. On weekends an additional main course is offered. All main meals are served with vegetables and bread. An optional halal meal with red meat is available weekly, while other meals during the week include foods suitable for those requiring halal options.
