International House creates an environment which allows students to build the confidence to take on the leadership opportunities available at the college. The Student Club is one of many outlets through which students can learn the skills to become an effective leader. By volunteering to hold a position on the executive such as president, vice president, secretary or another position of responsibility, students are learning real life-skills used every day in the workplace.
They must learn to guide and motivate other students to complete tasks and, sometimes make hard decisions sometimes without the support of the student body, to be a voice for the students in management decisions, and to be an example for new students so they may learn the culture and ways here at International House.
