Scholarships

International House has a range of scholarships and bursaries for new and continuing students, to help alleviate some of the costs
associated with living away from home.

    Dawn Wade Scholarship Full fee 
    ($28,800) each year for 3 years.
    • Australian citizen from a rural or regional location
    • Applied for the first year University of Melbourne Bachelor of Commerce through VTAC
    • Applied for a Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) via VTAC providing evidence of residence in a rural or regional area
    • Preference is given to students who have indicated on a SEAS application that they have experienced a disadvantaged financial background

    Clifford Family Scholarship

    Half fee ($14,400) for 1 year.

    There are Two available.

    • Australian citizen from rural or regional areas.
    • Applied for the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) via VTAC providing evidence of residence in a rural or regional area
    • Preference is given to students who have also indicated on their SEAS application that they have experienced a disadvantaged financial background,* and
    • Applied for a first year University of Melbourne Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Biomedicine or Bachelor of Agriculture degree.
    Commerce at International House Scholarship

    Full fee ($28,800) for 1 year.

    There are Two available.

    • Australian citizen
    • Applied for the first year University of Melbourne Bachelor of Commerce through VTAC
    • Applied for a Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) via VTAC providing evidence of residence in a rural or regional area

    $5000 (one off bursary).

    • Chinese citizen
    • Preferred female

    Mavis Jackson Academic Potential Entrance Scholarship

    Quarter fee ($7,500)
    for 1 year.
    • International student, and
    • Applicant with the highest academic result from their final year of secondary education.
    Weickhardt Academic Potential Entrance Scholarship  Quarter fee ($7500)
    for 1 year.
    • Australian student, and
    • Applicant with the highest academic result from their final year of secondary education.
    1964 Alumni Scholarship $4,000 (one-off bursary)
    • Australian citizen from rural or regional Victoria
    • Applied for the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) via VTAC providing evidence of residence in a rural or regional area, and
    • Preference is given to students who have also indicated on their SEAS application that they have experienced a disadvantaged financial background.*
    Frank and Valerie Larkins Scholarship Quarter fee ($7,500) each year for 2 year.
    • Australian citizen from rural or regional area
    • At least two of:
    • Financial need
    • Consistently good academic achievement.
    • Significant contribution to community
    Donovan Johnson Scholarship Quarter fee ($7,500)
    for 1 year.
    • International students
    • Financial need
    • Consistently good academic achievement.
    SEAVIC Lodge No.8 Freemasons International House Bursary $5,000 each year for 3 years.
    • Malaysian student, and
    • Demonstrable financial need

    *Although not a primary criterion, the selection committee may consider applicants’ final high school results when selecting for this scholarship.

    Vi Peterson Scholarship

    • Australian student or international student

    Global Citizenship Award $5,000
    • Australian student or international student
    • Undergraduate or graduate student
    • Spend a period of at least one month contributing to a humanitarian aid project, for the benefit of the citizens of an under-developed region.

    TASC Award

    $2000

    There are Two available.

    • Australian student or international student
    • Undergraduate or graduate student
    • Spend a period of at least 2 - 3 weeks working at the Mechai Pattana Bamboo School in Thailand
    Charlie-Jong Scholarship$2000
    • Australian student or international student
    • Graduate students
    • Dentistry or Medical degree
    • Excellent academic performance
    • Significant contribution to the House
